We’ve survived another week in Antarctica folks. Well, Notts, at -2c. So, to celebrate I think we need some awesome live music, don’t you? Nice one, here’s a bunch of it…

THURSDAY

Eat the Peach and Nottingham Media Festival are coming together this week for somethin’ well special. First up – the especially important bit, they have three sick Notts artists sharing their musical goodness w/ you. And then they also have a virtual reality booth. Yup, you can walk down Pelham Street, and quite literally walk into another reality. Madness.

SO MUSIC – kicking things off we have the joyous carnage that goes by the name of UNKNOWN ERA. How the bloody hell they’re gonna fit all of them on the tiny Bodega stage, I have no idea, but it’s gonna be vibey. Expect bouncy, blissful Reggae-Ska goodness. And get ready to have a good skank too.

Next up are Indie-Poppers VEGA BAY who will almost definitely have you wishing it was the middle of July, as opposed to this arctic fuckery we’re currently experiencing. Super-uplifting, and catchy Pop w/ guitars. What more can you ask for?

Then – headlining we have KWOLI BLACK. The poet-turned-rapper will be serenading the Bodega with his stunning mix of Hip-Hop / Jazz and Funk. At Beat the Streets his set was rammed, and, for good reason. We’re sure they’ll be no different. Kill it Kwoli!

The Bodega
Thursday 8th March
Doors: 7pm
Price: £10 / £7.50 for students.

FRIDAY

Spoken word magician LUKE PETER FOSTER has his biggest headline show to date this week – taking on The Bodega, with a bunch of eclectic supports.

Kicking off the show is HAPPYGHOST – often seen on stage w/ LPF, he’ll be getting the vibes all tasty with his vibrant mix of Hip-hop, Electronica, amongst other genres. And we’re sure he’ll be flogging some of his custom garms too.

TEE PETERS will be bringing his chill pill Hip-Hop vibes to TB. Studying English and Creative Writing at Uni Of, he’s kinda guaranteed to be a genius wordsmith i’nt he? W/ some proper smooth Rejjie Snow-esque vibes, he’ll get you all warmed… or… err, chilled up for LPF.

VEGA BAY – the Indie-Pop dreamboats are returning to the stage less than 24 hrs after they last played it, to… again, remind you that it isn’t summer. Sad face. BUT – they’ll probs have you forgetting that whilst ya do a lil shakey-shake to their super catchy Indie-Pop.

And then there’s LPF himself. If Loyle Carner and Jamie T got nicked by some mad scientist for an experiment, then was injected w/ James Blake’s mind serum (???) LPF would probs be the result. Chilled spoken word, drizzling w/ electronic ambience. But don’t think Luke can’t turn up – ‘Everyday’ is bound to get that (well supported) Bodega floor well bounceh.

SUNDAY

ADY SULEIMAN’s debut album ‘Memories’ finally gets to bless our ears this Friday – and to celebrate – the soulful genius is playing an intimate show at Rough Trade on the Sunday. The album has been a long time coming, but we’re excited to see his heart-warming Soul / Reggae vibes all come together in one collection. And, considering he’s off on tour w/ Anne Marie, this’ll probs be one of the last times you can see him in a venue this small. Get involved while you still can!

Rough Trade Nottingham

Yours in Love of New Music,
Sam Nahirny x

PS –  BROTHERHOOD make Nistory this Saturday, as they join the small selection of local artists to sell out Rescue Rooms! It would’ve made it in the T3, but, obvs being sold out, you can’t go. So, soz. If you’ve got a ticket – see ya down the front.
