If you’ve had a tough April, we have got the proper medicine for ya reader. Three beautifully diverse guitar gigs. Full of… guitars… and giggage.

MONDAY

If you’re part of the 96.7% of the population that don’t like Mondays – we have the cure for you. GET SOME RIFFY GOODNESS DOWN YA. EVA PLAYS DEAD have just released their new EP ‘The Fix‘, and to celebrate they’re throwing the launch party of awesomeness at The Bodega. Solid riffage. Killer vocals. And hooks for daaaaaays. Plus – some quite honest, open songwriting. It’s gonna be well special.

Supporting we have HARKEN. Also masters of riffage and killer vocals. Whether you’re screaming your head off to ‘Glory Hound’, or moshing out to ‘Move On‘ – they’ve got songs on songs on songs. And they’re proper engaging live. Get readyyyyyy.

Veridian from Reading and The Cruel Knives from Stoke On Trent are also playing.

FRIDAY

Fresh off the release of their chaotic beauty of an album ‘Challenger‘, HAGGARD CAT are back in Notts to bring the carnage. Where? Jam Cafe… yes. Jam Cafe. The v cosy space is playing home to a HAGGARD CAT show, and we’re sure their beefy, riffy goodness is gonna be blissfully badass up on that stage.

There’s quite the support lineup too. 94 GUNSHIPS will be performing a (slightly) stripped back set, as two of their members take to the stage for some bluesy goodness. Then there’s PIZZA SNAKES – we don’t know much about them, but they describe themselves as ‘a Nottingham Rave Punk Party machine’, so we’re super intrigued. And then, pre those cats of haggard, we have BONE CULT. Bringing the Death-Electronica vibes to JC. Will their lights even fit on the stage? Who knows? Gonna be sick anyways…

SUNDAY

CROSSLIGHT are releasing their debut album this week and – similar to them clever humans in EPD, they’re throwing a mega launch party at the good ship Bodega. Vibey, energetic Rock with plenty of pop sensibility. Topped with a good helping of distortion and thrashing from multiple humans in the band. We’ve heard a few singles from this lot – and if the album is anything like them, it’s gonna be a guitar-filled paradise.

Kicking things off we have HUNG DADDY. Yup. HUNG DADDY. ‘The best worst band you’ll ever hear’ – that’s the way they’re described. I’ll let you find out the rest. Then there’s Pop-Punkers DISTANT BLUE who have banging breakdowns, and more hooks than that pirate geezer in Peter Pan.

Dead on Arrival from Derby are also playing.
