GIG ONE
We love a good freebie at Nusic! From the minds at I’m Not From London & Little Wolf Parade, we bring you…. the music side of things at The Great Notts Show! An outrageously good event this Friday, Saturday AND Sunday to celebrate all that is Great in Nottinghamshire…food, drink, djs, arts, crafts and of course music all in aid of the Childrens Air Ambulance and Framework. Hosted in our very own market square, you’d have to have a pretty good reason to miss out on this event.
Boasting an absolutely mammoth lineup, this event will tickle the pickle of any music lover and caters too all your musical tastes. From the Americana twangs of RYAN THOMAS to the spellbinding sweetness of ALICE MACLEOD, from the incredible outrageousness of HALLOUMINATI to champion love spreader JOSH WHEATLEY, you already get a taster of what’s to offer and we’re not even half way through the lineup.
There will also be an incredible pop up art installation, a temporary ‘home’ for creatives from all backgrounds over the weekend of The Great Notts Show.

GIG TWO
Once you’re done with day one at TGNS, head on over to The Corner & help our bros at Leftlion celebrate another issue. Joined with I’m Not From London, the Blowout is back baby.
This passionate duo create cutting edge Electronic music complete with wicked vocalists for a sound that blow your mind. BBC Introducing maestro Dean Jackson described them as ‘one of the finest acts to come out of this area’ – and who are we to argue with industry brainboxes?! See for yourself this Friday.
Gifted with a lyrical prowess that would put hardened professionals to shame, ASHMORE is like Nottingham’s answer to Eminem if he joined forces with Plan B and spent some time experimenting with Gypsy Jazz. For a lad who’s not even in his twenties, he’s already locked on to a winning formula that’s fresh, innovative and completely addictive. Check out his Future Session with us HERE.
If it’s sweet serenity you’re after, the next act are for you. Finely crafting their music over time into a sound that is all of their own, HHYNM have been showered with praise throughout the local music scene and are tipped as one of the best bands to go and see live. So why not do so at this event?!
Alternatively, it might be scuzzy punk you’re after. Angry thrash punk rock that will undoubtedly have the room shaking from top to toe, this band are not for the faint hearted. Sure to get the party off to a raucous start, WHITE FINGER ‘look forward to smashing the shit out of you’.
There’s also bits from Do or Die Poetry, sets from Nottingham’s first ladies of vinyl Stiff Kittens and much, much more exciting stuff.
PRICE: £4 adv, £5 OTD
DOORS: 8pm
GIG THREE
A brand spanking new event next. From everyone’s favorite pork byproduct, HAM at The Brickworks this Friday will be bringing you an exciting night of live music from four of the creme of the Notts alt bands crop.
Formed in our fair ol’ city, CHILDHOOD will be headlining the night. Having toured with Palma Violets back in 2012, the four piece bring Brit Pop back with some nods to heady euphoria that wouldn’t sound out of place in 1969. Gleaming guitars, playful percussion and vocals that soar to almighty highs, CHILDHOOD are the real deal.
Easily one of our top up-and-coming bands next. Signed to local label Denizen Recordings, KAPPA GAMMA‘s complex, disjointed rock has notched up a hoard of dedicated supporters as well as securing national radio play along the way. Pioneers of ‘geography rock’, their beautiful music reaches as many sweeping highs as it does mellow spine-tingling lows. Delicious.
Easily one of the coolest bands we have going, Grunge prodigies KAGOULE are next. Their barrage of bass and harrowing vocals will leave you speechless, as you find yourself baring witness to three teenagers creating music that withers even the most hardened of gig goers. These guys are all kinds of good.
London band Keebo & a DJ set from KIRK SPENCER complete the lineup.
PRICE: £2 on guestlist, £4 OTD
DOORS: 9pm
