A female takeover, a lot of foxes, plus a pretty new venue. This week’s got it aaaaallllllll.
THURSDAY
This Thurs eve sees Women Got Talent take over The Maze. A bunch of local performers, across stand up comedy, animation, and, obvs, live music and spoken word. And they’re all doing it to raise funds for the incredible work that Nottingham Women’s Centre do for women around Notts.
There’s quite the lineup (and a bunch of new faces too). So check out the bill HERE, grab a mate, and get involved for a proper good night, which helps a proper good cause. Proper.

FRIDAY
YOU WANT FOX are about to release album #2 into the big wide world, and to celebrate, they’re giving it the sickest launch party at The Chameleon.
Kicking things off are MARTY – a melodic, all-girl Pop-Folk band. Aimee, Krista and Rhianne, come together to make songs that will make you sway, bop, and almost definitely do the ‘yup, really enjoying this’ head nod.
Then, we have DESENSITISED who bring bad-assery, lots of guitars, plus some damn catchy choruses too. Having just had another member join ‘em, they are now officially 50% more bad-ass, and will be bringing said bad-assery to The Chameleon. Have we mentioned they’re pretty bad-ass?
And then YOU WANT FOX. A raucous, chaotic, and bloody brilliant concoction of guitars, pop hooks, and punk-sass. As previously mentioned, this is album #2, and if it’s anything like the first, it’s gonna be a beautiful beast. And you know what – no matter what songs they’re playing, YWF are always an incredibly engaging live band. So I can almost guarantee ya reader, ya know, I’d bet a solid £5.67, that you’ll have a wicked night.

FRIDAY
I’m Not From London are back at the Fox & Grapes (ya know, that swish pub down Sneinton Market way), with one of the best-named events we’ve seen in ages – ‘The Food of Love’.
Kicking off things this time is the bluesy goodness of RYAN FARMER. We’re told he’s got even more tales of ‘whiskey, women and worry’, ya know, the big three W’s. And we’re pretty confident there’ll be plenty of beefy bluesy riffs, and Ryan’s incredibly unique vocal.
Next up is the Folk-y Acoustic-y Pop bliss of THE IDOLINS. Whether it’s the stunning melodies, instrumentation, or just vocalist Karen’s incredibly resonating storytelling, they’re always a captivating live band. And seeing them in this intimate of a space is gonna be well special.
Headlining we have Indie-Pop-Rockers DON’T FORGET RUPERT. Take everything you love about the blissful Pop-Guitar crossover of The 1975 and similar bands, and throw it into a proper Notts package, and you get DFR. Even though they ain’t on till 1015, I guarantee you’ll be singing a lil bit mental along to their super slick hooks.
