Strapped for cash but still wanna party? Here are 3 outrageously good local gigs coming up in the next week that won’t cost you a penny! (Unless you squander it all at the bar)
GIG ONE
First up on Tuesday the 7th of February we have THE SABOTEURS at THE MALT CROSS.
THE SABOTEURS make an alternative rock n roll noise that sounds like it has been dunked in a swimming pool of bluesy jazz. This gig will be a chilled one, so kick back, relax and enjoy some quality free live music! Maybe treat yourself to a pint too.
DOORS: Band on at 8:00pm
TICKETS: FREE
GIG TWO
MANIERE DES BOHEMIANS and CAPTAIN DANGEROUS play Nottingham’s Light Night festival at The Castle on Friday the 10th of February.
Light Night takes place all across Nottingham on the 10th of February which includes many unique events taking place across the city centre – don’t miss your chance to see the city like this – it will be memorable! Why not experience surreal light installations, street dancing, sword fighting, live music, artist commissions, lanterns and so much more. The highlight of the event is a very special one off gig at Nottingham Castle showcasing two fantastic local groups, CAPTAIN DANGEROUS and MANIERE DES BOHEMIANS The lovable CAPTAIN DANGEROUS will open the gig with their roguish gentleman vibe. Fans of GOGOL BORDELLO will adore this the hectic MANIERE DES BOHEMIANS as they never fail to put on a lively show!
DOORS: 7:30pm
TICKETS: FREE
GIG THREE
On Saturday the 11th of February there is a WIDOWS VIDEO SHOOT at The Doghouse on Carlton Road.
WIDOWS are a bit like crack. Once you’ve discovered it then you need it in your life. (Nusic does not advocate the use of crack). Mourish music. Without a doubt one of the heaviest bands in Nottingham, the thunderous stoner rock will grab you by the balls. This is no ordinary gig, the good people at WIDOWS have promised “some free booze” to attract the drunks and you will also get the chance to get your sweaty face in a music video. If you don’t go to this gig you are a massive idiot. Support comes from LIMN, JACKKNIFE HOLIDAY and DRUNKEN BASTARDS. Expect tattoos, facial hair, mosh pits and lots of shouting.
DOORS: 7:30pm – Midnight
TICKETS: FREE
