It’s somehow the last week of October (seriously, how did that happen?) which means it’s time to put on your autumnal wardrobe and adjust yourself to these dark winter nights by going to some awesome gigs. There’s a loop pedal orientated gig at The Maze, an Electronic headline show over at The Bodega and a chilled-out single launch at Rough Trade. Pumpkin Spice Lattes at the ready people.

GIG ONE

Loopers is back at The Maze for the third time this week. A bunch of Notts artists armed with only a loop pedal. Their chosen instruments will be making some experimental music hosted by none other than ‘Hip-Hop Hippy’ MOTORMOUF.

First up is EMKAH out of KOUNT MASLOFF and 1ST BLOOD, oh and BALTIK WEATHER. He will be creating Electronic beats through the use of his loop pedal alone. LOUIS SCOTT is relatively new to the looping world, but no stranger to the Notts music scene. Giving a mesmerising and poignant vocal with honest, soulful songwriting Louis creates a bluesy acoustic sound delivered with a whole host of charisma. WARREN IRELAND from Mansfield will be showing off his acoustic talent. Warren found internet fame earlier in the year by getting people to actually interact with each other on public transport (for the first time ever?) by singing Wonderwall on a bus. He takes influence from Ed Sheeran and Damien Rice whilst Folk and Blues to create some awesome acousticness.

Steven Faulkner from Derby will also be performing.

GIG TWO

SHELTER POINT are headlining The Bodega this Thursday. The Electronic duo consisting of vocalist Liam and producer Robin born in Coventry are signed to Space & Time Records/RCA, and just released their latest single ‘Glass Into Gold’. Oh, and it was premiered by Zane Lowe on Beats1. Pretty decent that init? SHELTER POINT create soulful ambience with a delicate falsetto and a celestial spectrum of sound through the sleek production.

Supporting SHELTER POINT, will be THREE BODY TRIO, who (you’d never have guessed this) are an Electronic trio creating atmospheric and hypnotic beats that’ll leave you feeling a bit spaced out and weird, but in a good way.

GIG THREE

Wire & Wool are presenting the last gig of the week over at Rough Trade. JOSEPH KNIGHT released his debut single ‘Keep Your Head Up’ on Friday and is putting on a gig to celebrate. Joseph has been gigging round Notts for ages and has developed a really mature songwriting style. His unmistakeable voice layered over his soulful acoustics are shown perfectly in his new single.

Support comes from MATT HUMPHRIESHis soft refined vocal and acoustic guitar are a powerful combination alongside his reflective and emotive songwriting. BILLIE will also be supporting, a 17 year old singer-songwriter bringing some chilled-out Indie Pop to the table.
