There’s bloody loads of gigs going on in Notts this week, but we’ve narrowed it down to this top three for you. There’s a night of Pop Punk at Acoustic Rooms, three of Rough Trade’s Nottingham faves and a NTSU showcase at The Chameleon.

MONDAY

Acoustic Rooms take on Pop Punk this Monday.

AS DECEMBER FALLS make noisy, female fronted Pop Punk. The band have had some love from Rock Sound this month, complementing Bethany’s ‘powerhouse vocals,’ saying the band would be right at home on the Warped Tour.

SAY THE WORD have been busy recording some new music and have even recorded a new music video. Maybe we can get an acoustified sneak peek of their upbeat Pop Punk? Yep, acoustified, I’m going with that.

HOMESICK will also be acoustifying their Pop Punk. HS have matured their sound loads over the past year, even since they wowed us in the final of last year’s FSN final. And you definitely don’t wanna miss their dance moves either (they basically do this thing ¯_(ツ)_/¯ a lot).

You can also catch The Ultraviolet from Boston.

WEDNESDAY

Wednesday sees Rough Trade put on their 10th Triple Bill, choosing three of their fav artists of the month.

First up are Hucknall’s finest Indie Rock n Rollers THE RUFFS. The four piece, fronted by Connor Spray, have been making music together since the start of 2015. Their performances are filled with swagger, punchy riffs and storytelling lyricism.

TWIN KIDD’s euphoric, blissful Pop will be echoing through Rough Trade on Wednesday. Stef’s ambient vocal delicately placed over steady electronic beats make for beautiful soundscapes that will leave you uplifted.

Last but not least are Alt Rockers, THE VARLETTS. The band got some love from one of their idols The Cribs on Twitter the other day, saying they love the guitars and spoken word parts. I mean – that’s pretty cool!

THURSDAY

The NTSU Music Society have grabbed some of their fave artists from across Notts, including:

ALICE SHORT, who has just released a brand new EP called ‘Frantic Dreams, The Harshest Nightmares’ which has had brilliant reviews from the likes of LeftLion. Get down to see her incredible poetic Rap.

ELMZ will also be there. He won Def Jam Rap Starz’s national contest for songwriting when he was 16. Can’t argue with that.

LUKE PETER FOSTER’s smooth spoken word over some top-class instrumentals will have you feeling all chilled out and cosy inside with his infatuation with rain.

CERTIFIED BLOOD & FAMILY will be bringing some of their MCs down for the evening. The likes of FONZSE, OMIE OMZ and POET will be showing you mind blowing performances.

MOTORMOUF, the half man, half beatbox machine will be there. His sick flows and beats will have you on the edge of your seats (although you’ll probably be standing). May have ~accidentally rhymed there. Oops.

P.S. – The Future Sound of Nottingham Final is taking place at Rock City this Sunday. We thought we probs shouldn’t put our own gig in the top three. But if you want to see HASHTAGOBI, ROE GREEN, BROTHERHOOD, THE DANDYLIONS, ONE GIANT CAUSEWAY, KELSEY SHAW (and a secret special guest) all for free, then get yourselves down to Rock City at 6.30pm. No tickets required.
