Yet another seven days of awesome giggage has passed, and now we have another week full of great live music for the Nottingham music scene. This week sees two great charity events and a one-off intimate show with a huge Notts name.
GIG ONE
This Monday you can catch some top Notts acts helping raise awareness for World Aids Day at The Maze. Hosted by Cultural Vibrations get ya dancing shoes on for a great cause!
Opening the evening with some ambient Alt-Folk is DAN HEATHCOTE with his compelling melodies and delicate vocals, and the lovely LOUIS SCOTT will bring to the stage his hypnotic chill-out Soulful Blues. Following their performances you’ll find upcoming singer/songwriter IAMSTARZ who will dazzle you with some angelic Atmospheric Indie sounds, whilst sassy songstress ROBYN HUGHES-JONES delivers her sultry voice and unique scat singing style.
Also the delightful ladies from THE HARGREAVES are performing so get ready for their mesmerising Contemporary Folk and some stunning harmonies from sisters Stephanie and Elena! Headlining is the man dubbed ‘The Jimmy Cliff of Nottingham’ last month and after a sell out show at the Nottingham Playhouse BLESSING MAGORE will end the evening on a high-note with some upbeat Afro-Funk Reggae.
Ajay Henry from Derby is also performing.

GIG TWO
Friday night offers a right treat as INDIANA plays a one off gig at the Suede bar with her beautiful Dark-Pop sounds. Having silenced a sold out audience at the Rescue Rooms earlier this month, this is a rare second chance to catch the local lass, in an intimate venue before she hits the big time.
A special audio and visual side project will be presented exclusively on the night too, so if you’re a fan of the popstress and the tunes she’s been releasing recently, make sure you get down, cos when her debut album drops in Jan – we’re pretty sure the venues she’ll be playing may be a tad bigger than this…

Doors: 7pm
GIG THREE
Sunday afternoon at the Bonnington Theatre in Arnold beholds a show of High-energy Notts bands presenting a collection of alternative winter songs to raise money for the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust. Together they have compiled the charity ‘Christmas In Slab Square’ which will be launched at the event.
Kicking things off are Acoustic Alt-Folk band WINTERHOUSE – if you’re into guitars, three-part harmonies and cheeky elements of Glockenspiel then these lads are for you! PTO are up next bringing a heavier sound to the stage with their fusion of old rock meets new meets punk meets Alt-Crimbo tunes. Then the lads from THE WILD MAN OF EUROPE take the tone of the night to something more County Folk-Rock. Describing themselves as ‘Out of time & out of place’ this lot will bring some of that old school sound that echoes timelessness. THE AMBER HERD will take the stage next bringing some Psych Alt-Rock anthems that’ll get you bopping along. Headlining we have nine piece multi-instrumentalists LORNA bringing some Indie Dream Pop as they mix classic instruments with loops and samples of traditional orchestral instruments.
This looks to be an epic show, where else are you gonna see a bunch of raucous bands playing alternative Crimbo tunes for charity?

P.S D.I.D are playing The Bodega on Monday, and this would have been a Top Three gig, however, they’ve gone and sold it out. We’re sure everyone who has a ticket is in for a proper treat though!
