This week is the calm before the storm (those student types come back soon dontcha know), but your Friday options are vast. From a Young Creatives gig with tons of upcoming talent, an Indie Rock show, and a Danger-Pop gig that is sure to get you jumping all over the place.

GIG ONE

The YMCA (you can stop waving your arms around now) are putting on their second Young Creatives show at the Sobar. The now monthly night features artists aged between 11-19 and is a great opportunity to see some rising talent.

Possibly the only Finnish Trinidadian sixteen year old you’ll find in Nottingham, I AM STARZ will be bringing some Atmospheric Indie with her ethereal vocal. And she’ll probs make you feel all relaxed and contented.

ONKAUR will be bringing a beautifully strong vocal that would sound incredible over a Rudimental esque track. She recently performed with rapper ADEE, who you can also catch on the night, over at The Gavaround Festival over in Walesby. Well travelled young creatives this lot!

You can also catch Nottingham acts MOYEGE OKE, AMY & NAT and REECE UNSWORTH but there isn’t much about them on the world wide interwebs yet. Gives you another excuse to go and see what they’re about ay?

GIG TWO

We’ve got a four act strong Rock and Indie show for you next. Some proper good talent that you shouldn’t deprive your ears of hearing. Put it this way, Arctic Monkeys should watch their backs with this lot around…

The headliners of the night, THE TANGENTS, will be providing with you with incredibly catchy riffs delivered with a confidence that’ll turn heads. They’ve released a bit of new stuff recently that really showcases their exciting talent, they’re most definitely a band to watch.

Next up are those four Hucknallians, CONNOR SPRAY & THE INDIABEES. Connor and his relatively newly acquired band will be there bringing huge amounts of swagger (as much as we hate that word, they really do have it). Expect some proper Indie Rock & Roll with some super slick sounds to bop your head to.

With a huge influence from 60s Rock and Roll SAME STREETS bring an energetic beat alongside catchy melodies and an overall infectious sound. The three piece’s nostalgic tone carries hints of the Rolling Stones and The Beatles but are still managing to sound unique and current.

Finally, CADETS will be bringing Indie Rock guitar riffs that will make you want to air guitar so hard you might actually start to think you’re in the band. The band will bring enough energy to kick the night off to a proper strong start.

GIG THREE

‘Danger Pop’ (yup, that’s a thing) five piece, DEAF BRIDGES, will be making you dance all your worries away with their ridiculously fun and bouncy sounds. With influences including Pulled Apart By Horses and Reuben, the band will be bringing you a super enthusiastic performance that’ll give you a full body workout.

Support comes from the Noise/Math/Post-Hardcore four piece LECHUCK. The band, who have a communal love for root beer, will be making some noise with their unique Rock sound, so expect lots of excitement and enthusiasm from these lot.

One of both the strangest and the best band names around, HAGGARD CAT BOTHDAY PRESENT will be supporting too. The loud Bluesy Rock two piece will be bringing some proper old school guitars to what should be a memorable show.
