Why did the chicken cross the road? To go to one of these banging gigs, thats why!
GIG ONE
First on the agenda is THE DEATH OF SIX BY SEVEN with WINTER HOUSE and THE GOLDEN TROUBADOURS at THE MAZE on Wednesday 16th of May.
THE GOLDEN TROUBADOURS will open the night with their wistful lyrics performed with passion and feeling that conjure up dreamlike states of mind and will leave you in a state of enchanted bliss – a perfect start to a night of acoustic ecstasy.
Next up on this brilliant lineup is WINTER HOUSE. Including former members of MODEL MORNING, HIMALAYAS and SIX BY SEVEN, WINTER HOUSE specialise in stripped back acoustic artistry – complete with 3 part harmonies and glockenspiel. Their effortless natural sound is as simple as it is beautiful, proving you don’t need pounding beats or heavy bass lines to create spine-tingling music.
Finally rounding the night off with suitable flair is CHRIS OLLEY, former lead singer of cult underground Nottingham band SIX BY SEVEN. The album The Death of Six by Seven will be performed in its entirety accompanied by fellow former band members, and will prove to be a climactic and powerful end to an evening of musical serenity and Nottingham musical history. Enjoy!

GIG TWO
Next up we have THE MONEY at THE BODEGA on Friday May 18th.
Last years Future Sound of Nottingham champs and consequential Splendour openers THE MONEY will have the THE BODEGA shaking to the foundations with their infectious indie/rock noise. These lads have the swagger of established rockstars and are well on their way to becoming them. Check out our review of them performing at the Future Sound of Nottingham Semi-Finals last month HERE. Expect to experience stadium pop/rock in an intimate venue and extra helpings of ludicrous rock n roll showmanship. Thats Friday night sorted then!
Support comes from THE PAUPER KINGS.

GIG THREE
I’m Not From London Presents… PRACTICAL LOVERS Launch Party at THE CHAMELEON on Saturday May 19th.
Set this evening aside in your diary for a night with PRACTICAL LOVERS. This quirky, electro 80’s upbeat band is set to launch their latest single ‘TextBook Romance’ at THE CHAMELEON. The single is said to be so good ‘it’ll break your heart!’ If you are into 80’s indie merged with an energetic contemporary electro-pop vibe then this is a gig not to be missed!
Also set to perform is IN ISOLATION. A noir wave indie band that brings a contemporary twist on 80’s indie and post punk. Expect momentous drums with a quirky sense of post noughties rhythm.
WARNING: This band may well get you crazy dancing!
Also Performing is RAINBOW DOWN. A solo artist catering in deep electric synth sound and vocals. RAINBOW DOWN has been described as ‘a cross breed Marilyn Manson/Robert Smith from the future.’ Sounds like that girl from last week…
