Ladies and Gentlemen, prepare for some serious gigs this week, especially the apocalypse taking place in the Red Room of RESCUE ROOMS on Monday.
GIG ONE
WARNING : THE FOLLOWING GIG MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO EARS, RIBS, MIND AND SOUL – THOSE OF A WEAK DISPOSITION ARE WELL ADVISED TO STAY AWAY!!!
Its BABY GODZILLA, ALRIGHT THE CAPTAIN, CUT YOURSELF IN HALF and WIDOWS at RESCUE ROOMS (Red Room) on Monday 11th March.
BABY GODZILLA gigs always guarantee blood, sweat and beers. Come down and experience the wildest gang of mentalists in the land. Sexually threatening riffs thrashed out at mach speed with brain melting volume that will have you moshing for your life. Dirty blues smothered in hardcore rock n roll. Listen out for tracks from the new mini album OCHE and older thunderous tracks like THE DISENCHANTMENT BOOGIE.
ALRIGHT THE CAPTAIN will deafen you with their bitchin math rock. The sort of music to crank up loud and get smashed too…strangely hypnotic and triumphant music. Possibly the most dangerous fun to have on a Monday evening.
CUT YOURSELF IN HALF will add to the chaos with their thumping funk rock and opening the whole crazy evening will be WIDOWS. The crashing stoner rock will shake you to the core and have you screaming along with the hairy tattoo ridden monsters with instruments. Check out the titanic track GOAT LAB on the PODCAST.

GIG TWO
Next up at ROCK CITY on the 15th, we have pioneers of alternative rock and brotherly four-piece SWOUND! Reminiscent of old-school SUM 41, SWOUND!’S bounding energy and catchy pop-punk riffs will have even the most chilled of gig-goers jumping 5 ft from the pit. Get your backwards cap on and mosh-hand at the ready.
Supporting SWOUND! are fledgling adolescents IN HINDSIGHT. Despite being slightly younger than your average rock band, what these guys lack in experience they make up for in sound. Thriving bass and addictive hooks complete with the occasional swoonful acoustic number, IN HINDSIGHT have the overall sound of a pop-punk sensation and are showcasing great potential – surely a nudge n’ a wink that these young’uns are going to go far! Check out our FUTURE SESSION with them HERE.
Also supporting are Nottingham’s very own LIBERATION PACT. This lot aren’t just another run of the mill rock band. They create a noise that is somehow pained with nostalgia but also instantly agrees with the ears in a triumphant way. Superb musicians with an uncanny ability to write incredible music.

GIG THREE
Also on Thursday the 15th at old-school punk venue the OLD ANGEL, we have alternative punk rockers GIRLFIXER. If you’re looking for a band that perfectly harmonises the balance between hardcore hair with edgy, genre-bending music, I’d suggest you check these guys out. Fronted by aggressive female vocals and blunt lyrics, GIRLFIXERS edgy sound strays away from the standard punk rock trends and their songs are littered with catchy rock n’ roll riffs and rhythmic breakdowns that really pack a punch. If you’re a fan of THE DISTILLERS, THE BRONX and THE GALLOWS this is definitely not a gig to be missed!
