This week there’s a debut show at Rough Trade, an electronic festival happening on Broad Street and two support slots at one of Nottingham’s most legendary venues.

FRIDAY

Friday sees LUNAH, a music producer and DJ, put on his first show at Rough Trade. You might recognise LUNAH as Ben from CHROMA BAY. There’ll be a DJ set from LUNAH himself and Notts flex dancer Jamal Sterrett will be performing.

The incredible SAWYER will be performing his awe inspiring music with a practically indescribable genre. Sawyer’s deep, almost haunting vocal, paired with drums and guitar whilst harmonising with female vocalist Pearl Fish will leave you in amazement.

You can also catch Patawawa from Matlock.

SATURDAY

Broadfest returns for its second year, taking over 7 venues on/in/around Broad Street. There’ll be loadsa live art, clothing stalls and street food to go alongside the electronic music festival. There’ll be tons of DJ sets from some of Notts most legendary DJ’s happening throughout the day, but I’m gonna give you a bit of a rundown on some of the live performances that are happening.

HARLEIGHBLU is headlining the event with an acoustic performance at Broadway. The amazing songstress will be stunning the room with her effortless, unique voice. She’s played loads of festivals over the summer including supporting bloody Chaka Khan.

DAISY GODFREY will be on the Broadway stage just before HARLEIGHBLU. Her beautiful vocal is filled with layers of Pop, Jazz and RnB. Her tone can make even the saddest of lyrics feel uplifting with the help of guitarist Ryan.

HASHTAGOBI will be on at BrewDog, leaving you amazed and confused at his quick witted and ‘did he just say what I think he said?’ lyrics. The super talented Nottingham Uni grad dropped his debut album in January talking about uni life, from student loans, going out and generally not wanting to adult, all over some insanely catchy beats.

BENJAMIN ZIEC will also be playing the stage at Broadway. Benjamin’s acoustic performances consist of catchy, boppy Folk with a sprinkle of Reggae.

SATURDAY

Two incredible Nottingham bands will be playing Rock City on Saturday night, supporting The Sherlocks. ASHFIELDS and MOWBECK will be fulfilling a dream of any Notts musicians (for the second time in ASHFIELDS case) by playing the mecca of Nottingham’s music venues.

ASHFIELDS have had a crazy year so far, and it is only gonna get better. From selling out their headline show at The Bodega, to opening the Rock City stage at Dot to Dot Festival, no the band are playing Rock City for a second time before they headline Rescue Rooms in December.

MOWBECK have had their fair share of huge moments too. They’ve recently been BBC Introducing’s track of the week with Grit Pop banger ‘The Basement’, meaning they were played every daytime on Radio 1 for an entire week!
