GIG ONE
To kick off our Top Three this week we have a insane opportunity for two of Nottingham’s most treasured musicians. Both PAPER PLANE CRASH and CEDRIC PETERS will be supporting Big Deal, one of the most critically acclaimed bands of 2012 at Spanky Van Dykes this Wednesday. This means crazy exposure for two Nottingham acts, who will be supporting a band that warms the hearts of music critics everywhere.
Also on the bill are Sisters, the self-proclaimed “dream-grunge” indie-pop trio. But, before that PAPER PLANE CRASH will be serenading you with their sultry vocals and misty memories. This is indie-pop as you have never heard it before, and believe me, you have got to hear it for yourself!
CEDRIC PETERS will be taking to the stage to deliver some delicate acoustic numbers and showcase their sensational back catalogue. If you have seen these guys perform, you will know that they are truly a gem in Nottingham’s music scene, and you can expect a genuinely captivating performance.

GIG TWO
Next up we have the raw energy of indie rockers ALBION, throwing a launch party for their new EP “HOMETOWN GLORY” at The Bodega this Friday. They’ll be playing some of their stellar back catalogue, as well as songs off the new EP. This show was even cancelled at one point as their drummer broke his wrist, but if there is one thing rock and roll teaches you, the show must go on! So, expect them to assault the stage with their catchy riffs and britpop swagger as they celebrate their biggest release yet!
Also on the bill we have CUT THE HEROIC’S, the pop-punkers with a knack for writing a super catchy chorus. Followed by SATURDAY’S BOYS, the high-spirited lads who will be going on hiatus after this gig! So make sure to drop by if you want to catch a captivating performance by these lads before they go on a break. This gig is going to be mental, so come on down, and have a bit of a mosh. You even get a free copy of the EP on the door, so what are you waiting for?

GIG THREE – Article updated 15:00 15/11/13
To round off our Top Three this week, we have something a bit different for you this Saturday. “Read Here” brings a congregation of poets, musicians and spoken word artists together to read excerpts from the literature that has inspired them the most. Oh yeah, and it’s at Nottingham Library, you can’t get much more authentic than that!
Don’t worry if books aren’t your thing though, cause all the artists here will be performing twenty minutes of their own music! Starting the night off we have ASHMORE & MOTORMOUF, the unique duo compromising of rapper KANE ASHMORE and beatboxer MOTORMOUF. They’re fresh from a Future Session, so, make sure to check it out if you want to know what to expect! Up next DH LAWRENCE AND THE VAUDEVILLIAN SKIFFLE SHOW will be slowing things down a bit with their almost indescribable take on Folk. INJURED BIRD’S front man SAM KIRK will be bringing his beautiful falsetto, before REBECCA KING ends the night with her soul-pop sensibilities!
