Guess what? It’s been ANOTHER vibrant few weeks for Nottingham’s music scene:
ADY SULEIMAN secured a slot on the Radio One playlist for the first ever time, the BBC Introducing slot.
INDIANA secured a slot on the In New Music We Trust playlist for Radio One for the first ever time, this is a level up from the Introducing slot (she’s secured the Intro slot before).
INDIANA also got her first ‘record of the week’ endorsement from a Radio One DJ, Huw Stephens making her his ‘Big Thing’.
Have we mentioned INDIANA yet? We hinted at her big news in the last one of these, she only went and played for the Queen! Securing herself national tv exposure and a spot on the front page of the biggest newspaper in the UK – The Sun.
So you get the picture, it’s all aligning for INDIANA to become a huge star!.
JOEL BAKER had a live session on XFM‘s X-Posure, arguably the UK’s most influential New Music show outside the BBC.
JOEL BAKER secured his first play on BBC 1Xtra.
LIPPI secured a live session at Maida Vale for the BBC Asian Network.
SKI secured his first Radio One play, and followed it with a Kiss FM play too.
Speaking of all this radio play, Nottingham based journalist Mike Atkinson reported that between 10/6/13 and 17/6/13 at least 18 different tracks by 12 different Nottingham acts were played on national radio.
HARLEIGHBLU received her first BBC Six Music play, with her debut single.
FISTS celebrated their debut album with a session on Six Music, with Marc Riley.
Pretty much every TV programme in the UK has started using SAINT RAYMOND as their soundtrack, we’re talking broadcast outlets as diverse as BBC Sport through to Made In Chelsea! Oh and he received his first daytime Radio One play, courtesy of Sara Cox.
