Right let’s get into things, it’s been another vibrant few weeks for Nottingham’s music scene:
The darlings and fashionistas of the UK Media were introduced to Nottingham’s current musical vibes courtesy of Nottingham Trent University at Graduate Fashion Week, more info HERE.
GLASTONBURY – INDIANA, ADY SULEIMAN & IZZY MARIE HILL were all confirmed for the BBC Introducing stage at the world’s most famous festival. Joining JAKE BUGG, DOG IS DEAD and SIX BY SEVEN who are already booked on other stages. #NottsTakingOverTheFarm
SAINT RAYMOND not only (unofficially) established himself as Zane Lowe’s favourite new artist with about a gizillion plays on Zane’s show but went Top 25 on the MAIN iTunes album chart, and he’s not even put an album out! Oh and breaking news – he is Jose Mourinho’s fave Notts artist! Big two weeks for SR.
The nicest man in showbiz JOEL BAKER not only received his first Radio One Play, but was made Huw Stephens track of the week.
That was last week, this week SPOTLIGHT KID became the second Notts act in a row to get the HS track of the week love!
Not to be outdone JOEL tonight secured his first ever Zane Lowe play, a ‘fantastic singer-songwriter’ he called him!
The aforementioned ADY SULEIMAN secured his first slot on the BBC 1Xtra playlist, the BBC Introducing slot.
RONIKA was commissioned to do her first mix for Radio One.
Legendary Nottingham label GRINGO secured some national media love in The Guardian.
The ‘#R1ChampionSound’ last week ( chosen by @monki_dj ) was none other than a certain LIAM BAILEY, together with ShyFX with a track called ‘Soon Come‘.
FISTS secured some national radio love from BBC Six Music and also from John Kennedy on XFM.
After Prince Harry’s visit we’re aware of some more Royal Notts Music news, coming very soon but we can’t share it yet…
