May is flying by faster than a fast thing on acid. But these gigs just keep getting better and better. And it means summer is closer. So really, all positives. This week, there’s some free music Live at The Angel, a headline show at The Bodega and an album preview at Rough Trade.

MONDAY

VEGA BAY will be bringing you their finest Palm Tree induced Indie Pop. Their guitar lines will grab you by the proverbial and their hooks won’t let go. They’ve recently announced they’ll be playing the BBC Intro stage at Y Not. They’re gonna be busy bees this summer.

THE CHASE have perfected their sound after 10 years in a band together (yup, i know you’re thinking, they are defo not old enough to have been in a band for 10 years but they have, okay?). The Indie trio bring loads of swagger to catchy melodies.

FOULE released their debut EP late last year, ‘writing good grooves for you to get your moves… on.’ They make proper chilled psychedelic sounds that you can also have a bit of a bop too. A slow ‘tryna look cool whilst bopping’ bop.

WEBBO AND THE SOFT BOYS have acquired some pretty prestigious fans. The Queen rocked up at their gig in Leicester the other week, no biggie (no seriously, go check it). Get down to hear some royally brilliant Psychedelic Rock.

FRIDAY

SHORT WEEKENDS are releasing their debut EP ‘The Garden’ at The Bodega this Friday. After meeting at school, the five piece have developed their Indie Rock to a new maturity, throwing in some synth action for good measure.

Supporting will be VEGA BAY. You lucky thing, you get two doses of the VB boys in one week! (If you haven’t been paying any attention avert your eyeballs upwards.)

You can also catch AMULET, who have just released some new music with a proper groove. ‘Falling’ showcases the distinctive vocal of singer Joe, taking Pop stylings and a proper 80s boogie vibe.

SATURDAY

SUNSET NEBULA are previewing their self titled, much overdue, debut album at Rough Trade this Saturday. And it’s all for free. If you haven’t heard SUNSET NEBULA before, just imagine what outer space would sound like if you could actually hear in space. Just think ethereal, celestial, euphoric sounds. In space. If what you’re imagining isn’t incredible, you’re wrong.

Support comes from GALLERY 47. His soft, soothing voice will give you some real feels and leave you stunned at its beauty. Having released three incredible albums, G47 has supported acts as big as Paul Weller and been played on Radio 2.

You can also catch Awooga from Sheffield.
